Half marathon challenge & raising funds for Kawasaki Disease
Story
I'm taking part in the 2012 Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping to raise much needed funds for charity, specifically the Kawasaki Disease Foundation Australia. As you may be aware, our youngest son Quinn has had Kawasaki Disease twice - at 13 months old in Dec 2011 and then again at 18 months old in May 2012. Kawasaki Disease is considered a rare illness and is also the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children.
This October, I’m going to be sweating it out and doing my best to complete a gruelling course through the streeets of Melbourne and ending back at the world famous 'G! This will be my very first half marathon! I couldn't even run 100m at the start of the year but I am slowly achieving something I never thought I could, and I'm striving to be a healthy and active role model for our children.
I am honoured to be a part of this amazing race and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.
ALL donations you give go directly to charity, so click on DONATE NOW!
Thank you for your support and helping to make a difference.
