Help support Turia Pitt and Kate Sanderson
Story
I'm taking part in the 2012 Melbourne Marathon and am hoping to raise much needed funds for charity. On Sunday, October 14th 2012, I’m going to be competing in a 42.2km course through the streeets of Melbourne and ending back at the MCG. Looks like it's going to be a perfect sunny day for it!
This will be my first full marathon and I am honoured to be a part of this amazing race and helping a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.
I am aiming to raise money for Turia Pitt and Kate Sanderson and I would welcome any contribution, great or small, that you could make!
Last year, Turia and Kate participated in Racing the Planet’s Kimberley Ultramarathon. During the early stages of this race, Turia and Kate and four other runners became trapped in a gorge when a bushfire, burning out of control in the El Questro Wilderness Park, engulfed Turia and Kate and their fellow competitors. These two girls suffered severe burns and are lucky to be alive. They require intensive assistance and to date, they have received little funding.
