Global Development Group Fundraiser
Story
On October the 14th I am going to run the Melbourne Half Marathon to raise money for the Global Development Group (GDG). GDG is an organisation that provides long-term sustainable development with the aim of alleviating poverty in developing countries worldwide. I hope to raise money for a project that GDG will undertake in Mozambique. It involves the construction of a school that will provide primary and secondary education to underprivileged children. In addition local staff will be trained into management and teaching positions and small farm will be constructed. The farm will provide the students with food for the day and will allow the school to become self-sufficient through income generation activities.
Any amount of money that you can spare will be greatly appreciated! Your donation can make a real difference to the lives of children less fortunate than yourself!

African Community Development Project (Global Development Group - J420)
African Community Development Project is a Global Development Group (GDG) approved aid and development project (J420) in project partnership with African Community Developments. The project aims to develop a school in Marfoga in Mozambique that can provide underprivileged children in the area with a full primary education as well as extracurricular opportunities in sport, art and music. The school follows the government primary education curriculum, with plans to expand the project to include a secondary school as well. Teacher training is an important aspect of the project, with a view to training local staff up into school management positions including the Principal/Head of Teachers role. In addition, a small farm is being developed on the school grounds to allow the school to become self-sufficient through income generation activities and also providing students attending the school with food for the day.
African Community Developments is proud to be a partner for Project J420 African Community Development Project with Global Development Group (ABN 57 102 400 993), an Australian AusAID approved Non Government Organisation carrying out quality humanitarian projects with approved partners and providing aid to relieve poverty and provide long term solutions.
Global Development Group takes responsibility of the project according to AusAID rules providing a governance role and assisting in the areas of planning, monitoring, evaluating and auditing to ensure the projects are carried out to AusAID requirements. If projects are overfunded, funds may be directed towards other approved project activities.
